SUMMARY:HOME
DESCRIPTION:Oct 11-Nov 2\, 2025\nTue-Sun\, 11am-5pm\n \nOpening Reception: Oct 16\, 6-8pm \nHousing Round Table: Oct 30\, 5-7pm \nLexHAB ‘HOME’ Fundraiser: Oct 23\, 6-8:30pm \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n \nLexHAB\, an affordable housing organization\, and LexArt\, announce the 2nd biennial Home exhibition is meant to call attention to the issue of affordable housing and help raise funds to support LexHAB’s mission to provide and implement alternatives for the provision of affordable\, safe and housing for low and moderate income households \n \nHOME will focus on the theme of ‘home’ and the role of housing in our lives. Whether it is a physical place or an idea\, ‘home’ can mean something different at each stage of life and varies by culture and geography. Housing as shelter is a universal human need that is inaccessible for too many\, locally and globally. A shelter is a need\, a house can be a haven\, a nest can be empty\, a home can be inhabitable: climate change\, income inequality\, racism\, violence\, love\, community\, and family are just a few of the factors that impact our concept of home and our ability to attain and maintain a home. All submitted works of art share this perspective on the notion of ‘home’. \n \nFor more information about LexHAB click here \n \n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n \nJuror: Anne Marie Stein \nAnne Marie Stein is Assoc. Dean of Professional and Continuing Education at the Massachusetts College of Art. She currently serves on the Newton Cultural Council and the Newton Historical Commission. From 2001-05\, she was Director of Development for Northern Light Productions\, a documentary film production company\, where she oversaw business development and also worked on a number of projects. She has served on national granting committees and panels\, served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the national coalition for media arts organizations\, NAMAC\, for seven years\, was a co-founder of the Boston International Festival of Women’s Cinema and co-director for many years of the New England Film & Video Festival.
