The Lexington Scholarship Fund Accepting Applications

The Lexington Scholarship Fund application is now available at lexscholarship.org. Scholarships are primarily need-based and available to students who are Lexington residents at the time of their graduation from Lexington High School or Minuteman High School. The application deadline is
April 16, 2020.

Each year the Lexington Scholarship Fund Committee awards approximately 70 scholarships, $1500 – $3000, to graduating high school seniors and those who are currently enrolled at post-secondary education school. The scholarships are used to help defray the cost of certificate programs or two- and four-year institutions.

This year, we are pleased to announce a newly established scholarship, the Emily and Frank Smiddy Scholarship (Frank is a LHS graduate, Class of ‘77). This scholarship will be awarded to graduating seniors from all academic backgrounds, who intend to study a STEM discipline at college and has demonstrated financial need. If criteria are met freshman year, the scholarship will renew and increase each year the student is enrolled in college.

Since 1981, the Lexington Scholarship Fund has dispersed over $2 million in scholarships. The Scholarship Fund relies on existing, named funds as well as donations received by an annual appeal mailing and the donation envelope that is placed in the May and November property tax bills. Donations are needed and always welcome.  The Lexington Scholarship Fund is administered and invested by the Lexington Trustees of Public Trusts.
