Welcome to the 2023 Growing Season at LexFarm

LexFarm’s farm store sells its own organic produce, grown just steps away on the farm. The farm store also sells fruit, dairy and meats from other local farms and value-added products like bread, soups, vegetarian and vegan entrees, and desserts from small local businesses. The farm store is open to everyone. Hours are Wednesday-Friday 12 pm – 7 pm, and Saturday 9 am – 2 pm, starting June 7.
We are also delighted to welcome those of you registered for LexFarm’s summer vegetable CSA, which also will start June 7. As always, pick up is available during farm store’s hours.
LexFarm Reaches Out to the Community to Support Food Donation
LexFarm is launching its Eat Local, Give Local Campaign Access to help it grow food for people in need. Locally-grown food, food equity and community farming is now more important than ever.
LexFarm is committed to growing food for all members of the community, including those who may not have the means to pay for fresh, local, organic produce. Each year, LexFarm donates 10 percent of its harvest to hunger-relief organizations like Food Link, the Boston Area Gleaners and Lexington Food Pantry – enough to provide fresh produce to over 50 families throughout the summer. Last year alone, the market value of that donated produce was $33,000. LexFarm also subsidizes CSA shares for SNAP recipients.
LexFarm hopes that all community members will value these efforts. This year, LexFarm is seeking to raise $5,000 over the summer months to keep this program going in 2023. Interested readers can check LexFarm’s website at www.lexfarm.org/donate/ for more information.
Lexington Community Farm is a non-profit working farm connecting the community to locally grown food and sustainable practices while preserving historic farmland. The farm and farm store are located at 52 Lowell Street in Lexington, near the Arlington Reservoir.

Sandra Mayo Joins LexFarm as Resident Artist for 2023
Get ready to approach art in a different manner this Summer!
Beginning in mid-July, while you pick up your produce, you will be able to also enjoy art inspired by farm scenes, at the shop and outside! Artist Sandra Mayo is bringing her Two to Flower installation to the farm flower beds.
Visitors will be able to make connections between art and nature and participate in bilingual (Spanish/English) activities. On July 19, Artist Mayo will be on the farm to introduce her art installation, and the Munroe Center for the Arts and artist Marina Strauss will help visitors make their own prints.
The project is funded in part by the Arlington Cultural Council. We are raising the remaining funds to complete the project by selling original prints at the farm store and at the artist’s studio in Lexington. Mayo is donating 50% of the revenue to the farm.
To make an appointment to visit the artist’s studio, go to sandramayo.com.
