Winston “Pat” Flynn was a military hero and outstanding Lexington citizen. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, a holder of three combat infantry badges and four purple hearts, and an original member of the elite 10th Special Forces Group, Airborne, also known as the Green Berets. After moving to Lexington in 1973 post military retirement, Pat devoted himself to serving the Lexington community until the age of 97.

The Pat Flynn Outstanding Youth Award showcases our youth and their excellence. Each Year, since 1979, this award has honored an outstanding youth resident on Patriots Day.
This award is specially tailored to recognize and celebrate a graduating Lexington senior who has shown exceptional dedication to community service and volunteering within the town. It aims to honor their commitment and contributions, specifically to the local community of Lexington.

The award highlights their dedication to community service, along with leadership capabilities and strong academic standing.
Please note that this award is exclusively focused on volunteering within the town and is dedicated to recognizing the efforts of  a Lexington Graduating Senior, who has volunteered for in-town services only.
