Special Needs Arts Programs, Inc., (Snap) Partners with The Lexington History Museums for Special in CVS Windows Installation
S pecial Needs Arts Programs, Inc., (SNAP) is excited to partner with the Lexington History Museums for an installation in the CVS windows along Mass Ave. in Lexington. Lexington History Museums recognizes the talent and abilities of individuals with special needs and the contribution they make to the history of the town and the cultural richness of our community.
SNAP is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization founded by Lexingtonians Marilyn Abel and Judith Goldner in 1981. The goal was to offer the special needs population inclusive educational, social, and artistic opportunities. SNAP provides creative programming opportunities for people with disabilities that celebrate each person’s unique abilities while cultivating creative expression, building friendships and fostering self-esteem through life-enhancing activities in the arts. SNAP offers fine arts, crafts, ceramics, and choral programs for teens, adults, and seniors as well as art instruction for children aged 5-12. Their participants sing in our own concerts and at community events, most recently at the Lexington MLK Day of Service, and their artists display their art at public exhibits held in Lexington. SNAP runs their Sing Along Chorus, Special Artists, Crafts, and Ceramics programs at the Lexington Community Center. Paint Nights and Art Drop-In are held at LexArt. All of their programs emphasize continual learning and promote the development of skills and friendships. Generations of our family members, friends, and neighbors have participated in SNAP programs. SNAP envisions a world where everyone is seen and valued.

The installation in the CVS windows will be up through May. Please come check it out! SNAP is grateful to the Lexington History Museums for inviting them to partner on this installation. More information about SNAP programs, events, and volunteer opportunities can be found at www.snaparts.org.
