COMMUNITY NOTICE
State Senator Cindy Friedman

How the state legislature is dealing with current challenges brought about by federal changes?

Cindy Friedman currently (since 2017) serves as a State Senator representing the 4th Middlesex District in the Massachusetts State Senate. The district includes Arlington, Billerica, Burlington, Lexington (Precinct1-2 and 4-7), and Woburn.

Prior to becoming a state senator, Friedman worked as a public-school teacher and senior manager in high tech. In addition, she served as Chief of Staff for late State Senator Ken Donnelly.
Senator Friedman will be speaking about the work of the state legislature with special focus on how the state legislature is dealing with current challenges brought about by federal changes to abortion regulations, reduction in research funding, vaccination requirements, etc.

This program is the sixth in the 2025-2026 LWV Forum Series to promote understanding of public policy issues.
We expect Lex Media will record the program for future viewing. There will be time for Q&A after State Senator Friedman’s comments.
