Lexington Education Foundation (LEF) Announces Trivia Bee 2025

Lexington Education Foundation (LEF) is proud to announce the return of the Trivia Bee. In its 29th year, this event brings the community together for a fun night of trivia to raise funds to sustain and enrich Lexington’s outstanding public schools through educator-initiated grants.
New this year we have added a Junior Bee (grades 5-8) beginning at 6pm with our Adult Bee (high school and up) at 7pm in a new location, Cary Memorial Hall 1605 Massachusetts Ave Lexington, MA.

Junior and adult teams, which can now range in size from 1 to 5 players and will be participating the entire time (no swarms this year) can register at www.lexedfoundation.org and as always, spectators are free.
We encourage fun team names and costumes to add to the fun spirit of the evening.

“Lexington Education Foundation has been supporting Lexington Public Schools for over 36 years by underwriting grants that enhance educational opportunities,” said Nicole Coelho Co-President LEF. “These grants help fund innovative programs, support teacher initiatives, and improve resources across the district. Thanks to the loyal support of our generous donors and volunteers, we are committed to awarding $250,000 annually for grants at ALL ten of our schools.”

Recently awarded LEF grants include:

BioArt:

This grant requested funding for curriculum development, and equipment to start a new course to pioneer a Bio Art course at the high school level. The concept of a Bio Art course is largely unprecedented, making its introduction both innovative and groundbreaking.

The project aims to pioneer a Bio Art class, integrating cutting-edge technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration to foster creativity and exploration at the intersection of biology and art. LEF provided the necessary supplies for the course, including a 3D printer, incubators, microscopes and terrariums. Part of the grant also allowed for visiting professionals and local artists to present to the students.

LEX250 Battle of Lexington and Concord High School Concert Bands:

This grant funded a living composer to write a music piece specifically for Lex250 (A town-wide celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington) that will be performed by all LHS band students. The music will be a meditation on what it means to be an American.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our individual and corporate sponsors, Coppe and Sears Pediatric Dentistry, Chase Plumbing, Levine Orthodontics, Lexington Dental Associates, Massport and Russian School of Math.
