“We are incredibly grateful to Sharon Williams for her dedicated leadership at Hanscom Field for over a decade, where she ensured the safe and efficient operation of New England’s busiest general aviation airport. Her commitment to operational excellence, safety, and service has been an invaluable asset to Massport,” said Massport CEO Rich Davey. “As she transitions into her new role, we are confident that Sharon will bring the same dedication, insight, and leadership that defined her time at Hanscom. We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on the passenger experience and overall operations at Boston Logan.”
As Director of Hanscom Field, Sharon oversaw the safe and efficient operation of the entire facility. Her responsibilities spanned airfield management, disaster preparedness and training, airport security, and enforcement of operating regulations. She also provided overall leadership for both the administrative and maintenance teams, developing programs and procedures to ensure effective facility upkeep. In addition, Sharon played a vital role in fostering relationships with the community, airport tenants, and local officials through strategic liaison and communication efforts. She maintained strong lines of coordination with the FAA, the U.S. Air Force, community organizations, and airport stakeholders to support the airport’s mission and long-term success.
Sharon has been a dedicated member of the Massport team for 30 years, beginning her career as an Operations Manager at Hanscom Field. In 2011, she returned to Hanscom as Manager of Airport Administration and was named Airport Director in February 2013.
