Pilgrim Church and Lexington Neighbor Brigade Launch Annual Dignity Matters Supply Drive

Pilgrim Congregational Church, UCC of Lexington, and Lexington Neighbor Brigade invite the community to participate in their annual collection of feminine hygiene products and underwear for women in need for Dignity Matters. In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Drive will kick off on Sunday, March 2nd, and end on Sunday, March 30th.

Dignity Matters offers free menstrual care, underwear, and bras to women and girls in need in Greater Boston so they can live with dignity and improve their health and confidence. Dignity Matters serves 15,000 women and girls in marginalized communities monthly through a diverse network of 170 shelters, public schools, food pantries, and clinics throughout Greater Boston and neighboring counties.

Last year, 1,500 items were collected, 20% more than in the previous year. In addition, Meryl Glassman from Dignity Matters spoke at Pilgrim, outlining the organization’s humble roots and growth as the largest organization in the state focused solely on providing free menstrual care. If you want to hear Ms. Glassman’s speech, go to pilgrimcongregational.org, click the Worship and Music tab, and select the Worship Video for February 25, 2024.

Sanitary products must be new and individually wrapped. Underwear must be new with tags or packaging intact. Bras can be new or very gently used. Donations can be dropped off at Pilgrim Church, 55 Coolidge Avenue in Lexington, outside in the waterproof receptacle by the front doors or in the box inside the Church when it is open. Let’s share some love and dignity with all women. For questions regarding the supply drive, please email welcome@pilgrimcongregational.org.
